Fun Facts Friday

Happy Friday, friends! Jiminy, it feels like this got here fast (probably because it did thanks to the holidays), but I don't think anyone will complain about the end of the week (myself included...minus the fact that the boy leaves on Sunday...but I'm resolutely ignoring that for the time being)...especially since that means it's time for another edition of fun facts Friday! Who's excited? You? Awesome. Me too.

1.) The boy and I met my younger brother for lunch at North Country Brewery yesterday. The boy had the Running Bull, my brother had the Leroy Brown Burger, and I had the grilled chicken salad. All of our plates were clean by the end, which demonstrates that we like to eat and the food was good. No food pictures were taken sadly (bad blogger, I know), but I did snap this one of my brother. Can you tell he's sick of pictures? Oh well, he has to get over it, since that's not going to stop anytime soon.

2.) I got my first PV Body shipment yesterday! It came in a shiny pink package just like I had heard about. I promptly ripped it open and had a fashion show for the boy. Not something I would have chosen in a million years, but the boy is encouraging me to keep it, so I'm going to try. I'll be honest, the form fittingness (yep, it's a word) makes me uncomfortable, but it's also something I want to work on this year, so this is a good way to do it. Plus, the bright blue pants are pretty cool...just need to work up the guts to wear them!

3.) The boy made dinner again last night. Roasted chicken and veggies cooked in the chicken juice. Definitely one of my favorite meals from him (although to be honest, I've yet to eat something that he's made that hasn't been good). I am so screwed when he leaves. I have gotten entirely too used to good food prepared by someone else's hands. Guess that means I actually have to work on my own cooking. I'd much rather just eat someone else's. Good thing I froze lots of the boy's so I may not have to do anything crazy (like real cooking) until February.

4.) At our friend's NYE party the other night, we played one of those couples games (since everyone there was in a relationship and/or married), where we had to guess the answers of our significant other to a specific set of questions. Guess who won? That's right...US! Yes, we are still proud of this fact and enjoy reminding each other about it at random points throughout the day.

5.) I was the pickiest eater you can imagine as a child (I would have given you one hell of a run for your money, Sarah). This lasted until I was 19 and a sophomore in college. Until that time, the only thing I really enjoyed eating was chicken fingers and fries. Occasionally, I enjoyed mozzarella sticks, a cheeseburger, mac and cheese, pasta, or fish and chips (if I was feeling really crazy), but I usually just stuck with some good old fingers and fries. I can't remember the last time I had my childhood favorite, so that should probably change sometime this month. It just so happens that this lovely lady posted a tasty looking recipe not long ago, so my dream can now come true. Thanks darlin :)

6.) My favorite Disney movie is Beauty and the Beast. And I totally have the special edition dvd, which I watch at least once a month. Not ashamed in the slightest either.

7.) I finally convinced the boy to go see Les Miserables last night. I had to agree to go see Django Unchained in return tomorrow. Totally worth it, no matter how ridiculous Django ends up being (I don't want to offend anyone who enjoyed it...just not always my type of movie). You should all go see it now (although I think I'm one of the last to see it in the blogging world, and yes, I'm still slightly pouty about that).

Have a fantastic Friday!

What are you doing this weekend? Have you checked out PV Body yet? Do you drive your loved ones crazy with photographs? Fun fact about you??

  2. Thanks for the shoutout love! There's clearly some food twin-ness going on. :-p

I want to try pv.body, but it's probably going to have to wait a few months. Christmas + almost a month of off work (downside of being a TA) means that cash flow is not great right now. I'm sure your outfit looks great on you!
And you may like Django more than you think you will - it's a well-done movie! Jealous you're going to see Les Mis though...I don't think I could get the boy to see that one with me!

    1. Anytime!! I can't wait to try your chicken fingers :) I think you're right about Django (hoping anyway)...sometimes, stuff like that keeps me entertained, so we shall see....always willing to try something new, especially for a good cause like the boy wanting to see it...I hope you can find someone to see Les Mis, though...SOOOO good :)

  4. I'm the same way with workout clothes. I hate wearing form fitting tops! But that outfit looks super cute. I also don't really like cooking for myself - love baking, but would rather have someone else prepare a delicious meal for me. I'm so happy you've been having such a fantastic time with your man <3

    1. I'm the same! Hate close fitting tops and cooking for myself haha...baking is definitely my fav and I don't mind cooking for other people, but for myself...just rather keep things simple I suppose :)

  5. You KNOW what I'm going to comment on already ;) Chicken fingers and fries? You sound like me except I HATED chicken so it was a hamburger and fries. My parents were ready to sell me, I swear. I guess there's hope for me yet that I'll change my ways... doubtful. But ya never know!
And those pv body tights- Ahhhhhh I can't wait to get back to school and open my package that has been taunting me since I got the email from my school weeks ago that I had a package. I'm dying, I tell you, DYING! (Clearly I'm a little too excited today.. it's the combination of a post-run high and being confined to a cubicle at my internship)

    1. Hahahahah I hear you on being excited...the boy slept in until 10:30 today and I was bouncing around the living room by the time he came out...lots of energy and excitement to run...he had to keep yelling at me to slow down while we were out too haha...didn't mean to go too fast or too far ahead, just happy to be out and running with him :)

  6. If you have enough food until Feb then you only have a month until boy returns for good! woot woot! I was a super picky eater too. Same bfast everyday and then after breakfast I preferred to live on easy mac. haha PV Body looks cool, wear the pants you'll look awesome and maybe someone will see you and think o she looks so cool running now I am going to run and get fit ;)

    1. Well if they can help someone else get there then I suppose I have an obligation to do so ;) and I LOVED easy mac for years! I loved that Ragu express, too...think I lived on both during my freshman year of college, since I wasn't a huge fan of the dorm food...go figure :)

  7. I doubt you're going to like Django, from what my Dad said, but after listening to the soundtrack last night, there's no chance in heck that I'm going to watch Les Mis. But I hear that most musical lovers loved it, so I'll give you that one.
And my brother is equally terrible with photos. Hopefully it's the age and not the annoying older sister habits. ;)

    1. It was sooooo good, Chels, seriously. Rent it when it comes out if you don't get a chance to see it in the theater! And maybe it's just a boy thing haha...who knows...just happy I got a nice shot of him :P

  8. Ryan saw Django while a girlfriend and I shopped + got our nails did... He loved it but said it wasn't my kinda movie aka no romance and no humor. I haven't seen Le Mis the play, nor read the book, but I would like to see the movie- I keep hearing great things about it! And you're like the 3rd person that I've seen that got a pair of blue pants... I'm not so sure that I'd be 100% comfortable in them either and may need some encouragement :P

    1. Ryan told you a bit of a falsehood...there were some funny moments ;) I'm going to wear those pants tomorrow during my yoga/circuit work to see how I feel in them...maybe be brave enough to try running in them by Friday!

  9. Roasted chicken and veggies is one of my favourite meals too. It's so comforting!

That's so funny that you mentioned wanting to make chicken fingers because I actually made some homemade ones last night with this recipe: http://www.healthyfoodforliving.com/crispy-baked-chicken-tenders! They were so good except I'm mad I didn't have plum sauce to go with them haha.

  10. Lol, your brothers pic cracks me up! :) It's just about the way people feel about me when I dig my camera out!
You could always have him cook up a bunch of meals and freeze them! :)
I really really want to try that PV Body... Have yet to break down and do it..;)
No big major plans this weekend...I have tons of small things to do around the house and oh yeah, I want to paint my fingernails sometime today. You know, it's the important things!

  12. Your PV body shipment is soooo cute! I love it when I get packages in the mail, especially packages filled with fitness goodies? Sorry the boy has to leave Sunday, boo. :( I would totally ignore it too. Maybe if we ignore it well enough, it will go away? (It's worth a try...)

Also, that meal looks amazing. Oh man...I was a very picky eater growing up. I'm a bit better now, not a lot.
Ps...everyone loved chicken fingers and fries!! (Still do...for realz).
