Fun Facts Friday

Happyyyyyy Fridayyyyyyyyyy! I thought this day was never going to come! I'm in the middle of bakingsome chocolate chip cookies for my LAST DAY with the cherubs (they may be crazy, but I know they'll love Hayley's recipe), so today's fun facts post will be short and sweet. Sounds good? Awesome.

1.) Cherry is my favorite flavor. I will pick cherry anything any day (except cough syrup...that's just gross). If I eat a red candy and it's not cherry, I spit it out and proceed to whine profusely until I find the cherry flavor I seek. True story.

2.) I made my bed for the first time in over a year at my apartment Thursday. I have become horrible about doing so since I moved out of my family's home (although if I spend the night there, I always make my bed after I get up...weird I know). I have no idea what possessed me to do so yesterday, but my bedroom looks a lot prettier with it made, so I think I'll try to keep it up. We'll see how long this lasts (read: a week tops).

3.) Wednesday night, I slept horribly. I kept having the same nightmare, waking up shaking, and then fall back asleep into the same dream. When my alarm went off at 5, I was going to give myself a rest day but was too afraid to sleep again, so I got up to do some yoga. After a few shorter videos, I decided to try this workout from Devon. Big mistake, since my body was too tired, which I knew and tried to ignore and force anyway. I had tears in my eyes after two rounds (no exaggeration), so I stopped and switched back to yoga, rather than making myself finish the other two rounds. Progress, people, and proud of it.

4.) My first CD was Spice Girls, quickly followed by Backstreet Boys, NSYNC, and Jock Jams (the last was put on at the rink during free skates and stroking, aka a form of torture used to build endurance in which our coaches would make us go around the rink as fast as we could for the last 10 minutes or so of our sessions, while chasing us with hockey sticks...perhaps my mental block against hockey had something to do with that?). All of these can still be found on my running playlist, and I'm not ashamed in the slightest.

5.) I have worn my smurf pants from PV Body twice this week to lounge/do yoga in, and I love them. They will definitely be packed for my trip to stay with this girl in two weeks, since she has the same pair. We are going to look fabulous when we wear them together....at the same time of course.

6.) This is Godfrey. I received him as a birthday present from my "big sister" in skating many years ago and have slept with him ever since. I still cuddle with him when someone is lame and goes back to his stupid base 9 hours away. I may be 24 in human years, but you'd never know it from my behavior.

7.) I have absolutely no idea how to celebrate being done with my job today. Methinks a movie, in comfy clothes, and some yummy food would be ideal, but I don't feel like cooking (shocking I know). Suggestions?

Have a fantastic Friday!

What is your favorite flavor? Do you still sleep with an animal? What was your first cd? Fun weekend plans?

  1. i think you should throw a little party for yourself to celebrate! i'll be partying at my house on your behalf...by doing laundry and watching the food network. sounds good to me! also i HATE cherry cough syrup. that stuff is so disgusting. i'm really proud of your workout choices this week - doing what you want and feel rather than what you "should" do. love love love it!

    1. Hahaha, I think my celebrations will include comfy clothes and movies in my apt by my lonesome, and I am a-ok with that :) And thank you darlin...I'm pretty proud of myself for it <3

  2. Morning my friend!! I hope you are having a great morning! Godfrey is adorable!
I really hate a bad nights sleep....it just ruins the whole next day and anything that I want to do that day. Brain fog! I am stubborn and still want to always get my workout in, but sometimes my body says "heck no!"
I can't wait to get my first box from PV Body! Excited!
Movie, comfy clothes, and yummy eats=perfect day. What movie shall you choose??? :) Congrats on the is new road in your journey Caitlin. Have a great day!!

    1. It really does! And my body definitely said no this morning, but I actually listened and let myself rest! And I think you're absolutely correct about that being a perfect day...the movie choice will be the hardest part :)

  4. Love it. Smurf pants. Now you just need a blue shirt, a white hat, and some white socks to go along with it. I dare you wear that outfit out in public once. Lol. :D

I think some microwave cooking is in order! I made this for the kids that I babysit and they loved it: http://lacreativitedelafille.blogspot.com/2012/06/single-serving-deep-dish-chocolate-chip.html Topped with someone fro-yo and that would be an awesome celebration dinner.

    1. Ahhhhh I love it!! Now you have to come to Pittsburgh, so that we can do it together ;) This place would never be the same with the two of us running around like smurfs! And that recipe is sooooo getting made tonight...thank you for sharing it :)

    2. Sure thing.

I wish I could come to Pittsburgh... I'm not even sure I own anything in smurf blue. That needs to change.

    3. Yes it definitely does. Smurf blue is freaking awesome...and seriously comfortable ;)

  5. I'm pretty sure my bed only gets made when I wash the sheets...yes, I am terrible.

It's hard to say what my favourite flavour is...when it comes to candy and the like, probably banana or green apple.

    1. Not in the slightest...I didn't even make it then hahaha...green apples a good one when I want to change it up!

  6. Cherry lover over here!! But only the fake stuff- I hate real cherries. I actually make my bed every day. I can't sleep if I don't haha I like my blankets to be orderly. I'm strange. As for your celebration. COOKIES! I agree with ^ chocolate chip cookie dish above. And froyo. Oh, and some chicken nuggets ;)

    1. Haha I like both..but the fake ones are my fav..and I am definitely making that cookie tonight ;)

  7. I see a low key night, some baking as a great way to celebrate. exciting stuff for you.

  8. Haha, you're so right, cherry flavor is the BESTT!!! I may not be as big of a cherry fanatic as you, but that's what I definitely prefer. ;)

    1. haha glad to hear you're a fellow cherry fan (although not surprised in the slightest twin ;) )

  9. I finally found your blog! haha I don't know why it took me so long, but for some reason it just send me to your google profile and I couldn't figure things out from there!
I'm the opposite in that I haaateee cherry. Give me strawberry, watermelon, raspberry, anything but cherry! I do like fresh cherries though. Weird, I know.
I say you go out to eat! Sounds like a great way to celebrate to me.. but that's one of the only ways I know how to celebrate so.. haha :)
    Have a good weekend!!

    1. Aww yay!! I'm glad too :) Haha I love raspberry, too, but I definitely have to be in the mood for the others. And fresh cherries are my favorite in summer! And it's also one of my favorite ways to celebrate :)

  10. I'm hoping for an easy relaxing weekend with some skiing :) Congrats on finishing your job!! My first CD that I bought myself was the soundtrack for Shrek.. I thought I was sooooo cool singing all the words to All Star.

    1. Thank you :) And skiing?? Ahh that sounds like so much fun! I haven't been in a few years but was actually just talking with a few friends about trying to go next month, which would be awesome! And I love that soundtrack...Shrek Karyoke Dance Party is still an all time favorite ;)

  11. Your first 2 points are the complete opposite from me. Cherry flavoring is my least favorite because I associate it with medicine. Aaaand I make my bed every single day. I can't leave my house without my bed made. I am so glad you made the cookies again and I am SO SO SO happy for you that it's your last day today. Text me after and I will have a celebratory cookie/glass of wine/something in your honor.

    1. Haha fair enough on the medicine thing...I will definitely be texting you later :)

  12. I never make my bed. I wish I did, but it's just something I have never been in the habit of doing. I'm sorry I hurt you!! I'm really proud of you for just listening to your body and taking it easy though. Sometimes taking a step back is harder than pushing through the pain, but you made the right choice. There is plenty of time for burpees later ;)

    1. Hahaha, I'm a tough cookie, and I should have known better when I'm feeling like that ;) I will get through it! And you're right about that for sure

  13. Haha, I am just picturing you spitting out a strawberry candy because it's red but it isn't cherry :P I may have to see that in action in March... I was a big N'Sync fan [hello hottie Lance] and Spice Girls fan [I could watch Spice World over and over and never get bored]! Congrats on your last day, I hope you have a blasty blast :D Dinner + a movie + a good sleep sounds delightful!

    Replies
    1. Are you going to give me a bag of red candies in March?? That would be a good way to do it ;) Lance was definitely a cutie and ohhhhh spice girls! I still love them :) And hear hear for good sleep! Fingers crossed so I feel better and can hit my long run tomorrow!

  14. Throw yourself a party with some take-out food (we can't have you cooking for your own celebration), a glass of vino, and the movie of your choice! I think this little par-tay will be much, *much* deserved. :)

And OMG, I love Godfrey. Sealed in Ziploc baggies in my closet at this very moment are my blankie, which I've had since birth, and my teddy bear puppy, Pooka. Whenever Brandon has to travel for work, those things get busted out and cuddled with like woah.

    1. Hahaha, I might. Also going out to dinner with a friend tomorrow so might just save going out for then and heat up a mom meatball tonight (heating up doesn't count as cooking right?)...and YAY!! I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who still sleeps with child things when their boy is out of town haha :)

  15. You did it! You're done :)! Hooray!
I don't know why...but I never really made my bed when I lived at home unless the sheets were washed or I cleaned my room (not very often). Now that I'm on my own, I ALWAYS make my bed...weird...I don't know.

That giraffe is so dang adorable! I snuggle with a pillow, and usually a George as well ;)

    1. Hooray is right!! Still crazy surreal and not sinking in, but I know it will eventually haha...and yay for having good things to snuggle with when the boys are away...although I need a George...or a pug...a pug would be good ;)

  16. While rowing, I had a coach who used to put the nose of his coach boat (motorized) right up close to the stern of our boat and have us row. So if we slowed, there was a chance that he would literally plow right over us (and it has happened to one of his boats in the past). So frightening. We got faster, but I'm still traumatized. Your stroking drill reminds me of this very much.
I no longer sleep with a bear, but I do have one on my bed, just in case. Thinking that all our blends will need to bring their snuggly friends with them on our adventures together. ;)

    1. Aiiiiiiiii!! I'd still be traumatized too! Where do coaches come up with this stuff ha? I get that it works, but as what cost? And snuggle animals are definitely a must for blend trips!

  17. I sleep with like 5 stuffed animals...ha.

  18. Oh man, I step away from blogging for a day n half and I miss so many of your post :( :( I promise to e-mail you back soon girl, I've just been dying from this stinking cold!!! UGH!!

    Anyways....

I hardly ever make our bed. I used to every.single.day, but have been slacking on doing so for the past couple months. It really does make your room look so much nicer though.

I think I purchased those CDS in the same exact order as you! Ha Ha. I think I may go listen to some of those songs now too

I'm not sure what you ended up doing last night to celebrate, but I hope you had the most wonderful time!!!!!

  19. I am a huge orange girl. Give me all the orange candy please! I sleep with a manatee my momma gave me when I was in 3rd grade! I haven't had it in a week, which explains my less than wonderful nights of sleep. I love the smurfs, please tell me you do too ;D
