Good morning, kiddos. Weird to hear from me early on a Saturday I know, but I like to change things up every now and then...keeps people on their toes (myself included) after all! Thank you so much for all your kind well wishes on my last day at work yesterday :) It absolutely made my day, which was pretty typical, since I work(ed) with three year olds, and they could care less about anything besides cookies and who took their favorite toy (sounds pretty smart to me, actually, but that's a whole other post). They did surprise me with these beautiful works of art....
....which need to be hung up in my apartment stat. I had a pretty quiet night to celebrate, which was perfect since I wasn't feeling so hot (woke up at 5 with a sore throat, so I reset my alarm for 6:15 and didn't run or do yoga or anything but rest....who am I?). I did foam roll (since my leg muscles were oddly sore, and I have a longer run scheduled for today) but did so while watching Moonrise Kingdom, which my mum had brought down for me on Sunday (massive amounts of Gossip Girl may also have been watched). I also heated up one of her magical meatballs (mozzarella cheese stuffed inside beef meatballs coated in panko breadcrumbs...mouthwatering, I assure you) and put it on top some pasta and veggies, topped it with my favorite parmasean asiago mix from Trader Joe's, and called it a tasty comfort dinner that hit the spot! I followed it up with some hot chocolate and popcorn topped with some chocolate pieces from the bars Joe put in my stocking...a little gingerbread chocolate, salted caramel dark chocolate, and dark chocolate almond brittle....excellent idea, friends. Definitely a good way to end the night!
I was lucky enough to be nominated for The Super Sweet Blogging Award by the lovely Liv from Life As Liv and Madison from Eating 4 Balance, and I figured it was about time I participated! Plus, I love answering surveys and wanted something lighthearted for today, so here it is! Thank you both so much, loves :) It's always an honor to be nominated by such amazing ladies as yourselves!
The rules for The Super Sweet Blogger are as follows:
1.) Give credit to the person who nominated you.
2.) Answer the super sweet questions.
3.) Nominate a baker's dozen (13) blogs.
The Super Sweet Questions:
Really? We should know by now I love both, and I'm not ashamed in the slightest. Sometimes, I want one or the other. Sometimes, I want both...at the same time (and the above cake must be made asap). I couldn't pick one over the other, so I'm not going to!
My favorite combination is a chocolate cookie, cake, cupcake, whatever with vanilla frosting. Always requested on my birthday. It's like eating a massive oreo, which is in fact my favorite store cookie. Give it a try, and tell me what you think!
Froyo of course! Although I love Trader Joe's chocolate powerberries, too. I keep them in my freezer and munch on a few every day.
That's an excellent question. I have a rather large sweet tooth, so I rarely turn them down (have to be super sick to do so actually), but I think I crave them in the morning after breakfast and after dinner. I usually satisfy the morning craving with a few frozen powerberries (they're "fruit" which is totallyyyyyyy acceptable for breakfast!), and then I'll have dessert of some sort (read: usually froyo) after dinner.
Hmmm, I honestly have no idea. What do you think?
And now my baker's dozen...

froyooooooooo, man that is all I have wanted lately, for me it is all about the toppings
ReplyDeleteExactly...I think I have 5000 parts toppings to 1 part froyo haha
DeleteYummmmm froyo! Also, can we bake that cookie cake thing togheter? It looks amazing.
ReplyDeleteFun fact: moonrise kingdom was filmed in my town in RI (the one I'm leaving for right now!)
Yes ma'am! And that's awesome! I liked it haha...odd but it worked :)
DeleteThanks for the nomination love! I've started having daily dessert (usually after dinner, but sometimes after lunch too) and even if it's just a small square of dark chocolate, it makes me happy.
ReplyDeleteI'm a huge fan of a small dessert after lunch too...easier and more fun to have a little dessert after each meal than one big one at night :) And you're welcome! Very deserved :)
DeleteThat cookie cake looks absolutely perfect. I am the same in that I could never pick one over the other! But in terms of your chocolate/vanilla combination, I actually hate oreos. I love chocolate everything but when it comes to cake, I prefer vanilla cake and frosting.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to have to give our friendship some serious thought if you hate oreos....justtttt kiddinggggggg...i will gladly eat vanilla on vanilla if you give it to me...my favorite just happens to be chocolate and vanilla ;)
DeleteThis reminds me, I got this award weeks ago and I still haven't filled out the survey. Must do that soon. I totally dig the oreo combination too, it just works!
ReplyDeleteWay to be girl!
DeleteThose TJ powerberries are dangerously good. As in, dangerous if you leave me alone with a bag...;)
ReplyDeleteOh yes...I have a bag in my freezer at all times ;)
DeleteLove this little award! I just made chocolate cupcakes with vanilla frosting. Great combo! Also, I've totally had those powerberries and I am in love as well. I always dig around for the super huge ones haha have a good weekend girl!
ReplyDeleteOmg me too! I could only find little ones this morning so made sure to grab a new bag at TJs when I was grocery shopping..little all by themselves are so unacceptable ;)
DeleteStill haven't made it out to froyo, promisepromisepromise I will one of these days (the hour long bus ride there is a little daunting ...). I've just heard too much good about build-your-own places not to be a little jealous of all those who have one nearby.
ReplyDeleteIt is pretty handy to have close ;)
DeleteHow fun is this! And how cute are those little kids! I love hand print art, I cannot wait to have kids and do it with them! haha. hmmm I love bananas on my froyo. I always get so overwhelmed with the toppings honestly. My favorite place isn't self serve and I can get a dipped cone so I love that the most! Thanks for the nomination! I cannot wait to answer!!!
ReplyDeleteIt seriously made my day...I just have to figure out where to hang them...for now they're leaning up against a big chair I have, which is probably where they'll stay till we move and find some place in our new apartment to hang them...because they will be hung :) And you are very welcome, love :)
Deletei haven't gotten froyo in forever and i want to change that stat. also i think i'm going to need to dig into your powerberry stash when i'm there in april. hope that's okay.
ReplyDeleteyou are more than welcome to ;)
DeleteI haven't had fro yo in almost 2 weeks, which is totally not acceptable! I can't have a lot of the good toppings because of allergies, but I love getting crushed Oreo bits on mine! Also a drizzle of chocolate sauce is always a must. :D
ReplyDeleteThanks for the nomination girl!
Unacceptable indeed girl! GO get on that stat ;) And anytime!!
DeleteAwee!!! You really did teach the CUTEST little kids EVER! I hope you started feeling better as the weekend went on girl. I know the cold is going around like crazy over in the states, but hopefully you were able to stay clear from it.
ReplyDeleteCake or Cookies... Tough call, Ill have to say cookies since I'm not a huge fan of frosting
I ALWAYS crave sweets around 8 every single night.
I know haha...they're still up in my living room and make me smile every time I see them :)...feeling a little better...hoping to keep catching up on rest to make it go away completely!
DeleteI love your surveys~! But oh no....you nominated me D:! I haven't been blogging!!
